I began woodturning in 1998 while living in Illinois. My wife and I lived on an abandoned Christmas tree farm on the Illinois and Wisconsin state line, where I had a studio and small gallery. I placed my work in galleries from the north side of Chicago to Racine Wisconsin. We moved permanently to Lopez Island Washington in May of 2017. I enjoy working with wood that most people reject as it generally has more figure and character. Since moving to Lopez my wood of choice has been alder, most of which was headed to the wood stove. Beauty beneath the bark is very true.
