 HISTORY

Lopez Artist Guild was incorporated July 1, 1924 as Home Economic's Club. It was amended April 14, 1959, as Lopez Island Home Economic's Club, amended again June 8, 1973, as Lopez Arts and Crafts Association, and amended later as Lopez Artist Guild, a non-profit organization.

 WHAT WE DO

THE LOPEZ ARTIST GUILD ::

  • Sponsors the Lopez Artist Guild website which promotes individual artists, art shows, events, classes and workshops, and opportunities for artists

  • Sponsor member's group and individual art shows at the Lopez Center for Community and the Arts and the Gathering Place at the Hamlet

  • Annually holds four board and three general membership meetings

  • Awards the Shirley Wright Scholarship to selected High School seniors who are Lopez Island residents

  • Has a presence at the Lopez Farmers Market to promote the Guild and to provide space for artists to sell their work.

  • Promotes art display in public places
