Michael Rust

Mike has been painting since he was a teenager and studied art at Washington State University. One of the founding artists of Chimera cooperative gallery on Lopez, his works have been shown at a number of galleries in Seattle and throughout the region. He is an avid outdoor sketcher and loves working in the mountains, around boats or anywhere that enables him to pursue realism and landscapes. His medium for the past ten years has been oils, although some of his en plein air work is now in watercolors. Colors fascinate Mike and most of his work involves the challenges of colors that are seen, and unseen.
