These landscapes are not recognizable as particular geographic places. Rather, they are fragments of nature and human existence recomposed as scenes, as mind and memory hold continents of flowers and rich soil. These are not renderings of an actual landscapes, but reimagining that incorporate both randomness and narrative. Based in the current environmental crisis, this body of work is a poetic demonstration of the beauty the Earth and human responsibility. Using Van Dyke printed photography, thread, ink, dye and wax, the fiber is rubbed, embroidered, silkscreened, painted and printed.
